Coal Mine Lidar - Central QLD

A comprehensive LiDAR scan was recently completed for the Curragh coal mine in Central Queensland, covering an expansive 100-hectare site. The project employed a multi-platform approach to data acquisition, utilizing drone-mounted LiDAR for efficient aerial coverage of large, open areas, backpack LiDAR for navigating complex terrain and vegetated zones, and vehicle-mounted LiDAR for rapid data collection along haul roads and accessible sections. This integrated approach ensured the capture of highly detailed and accurate 3D spatial data across the entire mine site, providing valuable insights for operations, planning, and environmental management.
