Social Responsibility

Connected South Pacific is a responsible business, and that means we are accountable for all our actions – socially, ethically and environmentally.

Meaningful contributions

In addition to providing local employment and service opportunities, we support a range of ongoing initiatives that help create healthy, vibrant and cohesive communities. Our aim is to make a broad and meaningful contribution to the communities we operate in by engaging in activities such as charity events, corporate friendships, charity partnerships, volunteering and donating.

We are also pleased to maintain a longstanding Corporate Social Responsibility that helps people in need, encourages social cohesion, and supports local communities.

Project Based Initiatives

Connected South Pacific is always looking for ways to engage with and improve the communities in which we operate. This is particularly the case in remote areas where our projects are based.

Our social responsibility mandate ensures that every project we undertake has a co re component that focusses on giving back to local communities.

Over the years, Connected South Pacific people have undertaken a range of activities and initiatives including organised charity events, upgrades to community and social infrastructure and the donation of sporting equipment and educational supplies.

Staff Charity Events

At Connected South Pacific, we encourage our team members to participate in company organised charity events. We also encourage staff-driven events and activities along with volunteering opportunities, supporting these by contributing or donating dollar matching funds.

Young Children’s Mentor Club (YCMC)

Working with Young Children’s Mentor Club on a national partnership arrangement, we raise money for the foundation and assist with donating mentoring experiences to PNG s youth. The Young Children’s Mentors Club (YCMC) started out in 2014 as a collective of local Papua New Guinea community leaders an d business men and women. This group of volunteers, led by Mr. Felix Koma, had a vision to guide and mentor young people as future leaders of their communities. Through t his vision, those young people would be given the skills, knowledge and confidence to set them on a path of education, leadership and possible future careers.
